Spring Break 2015 

Staying in town for break? Have some fun at the library!

Monday: The Boxtrolls (all ages)
March 16, 1:30 pm at both Olathe libraries

Bring your blanket and pillow for a screening of The Boxtrolls (PG 96 minutes). Adults must accompany kindergarteners and younger. No registration necessary but space is limited. Tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the show. 

Monday: Family Chess Night (all ages)
March 16, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Olathe Indian Creek
 
Play chess with a worthy opponent! The whole family is invited and all levels are welcome. Chess boards and equipment provided. A parent must accompany children in Kindergarten or younger. No registration necessary.
 
Tuesday: Spring Break Cookie Decorating (all ages)
March 17, 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Olathe Indian Creek

Cookies, frosting, sprinkles – oh my! It’s time to decorate cookies! Enjoy spring break by coming to the library and having a treat! Come and go as you please. A parent must accompany children in Kindergarten or younger. All supplies provided. No registration necessary.

Tuesday: Teen Library Club (TLC) (6th - 12th grades)
March 17, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Olathe Downtown

Teens, help us  plan and promote library programs, participate in special community service projects, go on outings, assist with the library teen page and blog,and discuss book, movies, music & more! Earn volunteer hours! Refreshments will be served. No registration necessary.

Tuesday: Evening Lego Club (K - 5th grade)
March 17, 7:00 pm at Olathe Downtown 

We’ll introduce a fun theme, turn you loose on the library’s LEGO® collection to build something awesome, then let you show off your creation before you leave. This program will last about an hour. Registration required. Register online

Wednesday: Spring Break Cookie Decorating (5th grade and under)

Thursday: Dystopian Movie Marathon (6th - 12th grade)
March 19, 10:30 am to 3:30 pm at Olathe Indian Creek

Come with friends and watch Mockingjay Part 1 and Divergent  on our big screen. We’ll have pizza for lunch as well as munchies and refreshments during the films. Both films are rated PG 13. Registration required. Register online

Thursday: YA Anime Club (6th - 12th grades)
March 19, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Olathe Indian Creek

Join other teens to share your manga drawings, watch anime, play anime computer games, learn about Japanese culture, and talk about manga & anime. Refreshments served. No registration necessary. 

Thursday: Otter Creek (all ages)
March 19, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Olathe Downtown

Bring the whole family to this special musical evening, featuring Otter Creek. This husband and wife folk duo, from Salt Lake City, UT, have won numerous awards including the 2013 International Acoustic Music Association’s People’s Choice Awards for Favorite-Old Time Band, Favorite Fiddler Player and Favorite Mandolin Player. No registration necessary.
