On Thursday, October 7, 2010, you can help set a new world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day. Last year more than 2.1 million people read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This year people all across the country will try to break the record again by reading The Snowy Day by Jack Ezra Keats. We will be reading The Snowy Day to children at the Indian Creek Branch on October 7 at 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, and 2:30 p.m. Drop by the libary and listen as we read for the record. The book will also be read that day at our Thursday morning storytimes at the Main Library. If you read The Snowy Day online at www.wegivebooks.org/readfortherecord before October 7, the Pearson Foundation will donate a free copy of the book to a child in need so that he or she can take part in this year's Read for the Record event. You can create a priceless memory for a young child. So read the book online before October 7, and then come join us on that date at the Indian Creek Branch as we read for the record.
