charlottesweb.gifHave you seen the new movie version of Charlotte's Web?  Have you read the original book by E.B. White?  Which did you like better? Charlotte's Web is just the lastest of many great children's books that have been made into movies.  And just because you've seen the movie, don't think you know the whole story.  Many movies leave things out or make changes from the original book.  Why not read the book then watch the movie and compare the two? Here are some other good books that have inspired movies: •  Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo •  How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell •  Curious George by H.A. Rey •  A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket •  The Ant Bully by John Nickle •  Hoot by Carl Hiaasen •  The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis •  Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg •  Zathura by Chris Van Allsburg •  Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling •  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl •  Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine •  The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg •  Holes by Louis Sachar •  Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt •  Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh •  Old Yeller by Fred Gipson •  Stuart Little by E.B. White •  Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers •  Matilda by Roald Dahl •  Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers •  Babe, the Gallant Pig by Dick King-Smith •  The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks •  The Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum •  The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett •  The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling •  Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne •  The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss The library owns both the book and movie versions of most of these titles.  If something is checked out, we can always request it for you.  And remember, don't judge a book by its movie!
